The ignITe Hub hosts a monthly Fireside Chat Career Series. Each month, we will host a trailblazing guest speaker to explore their unique tech career path. We will learn what sparked their interest in this area, meaningful experiences that impacted their journey and career advice for aspiring techies. Our featured guest speaker is Nell Feldman, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Montgomery College where she provides direction and oversight to secure and protect the College’s information assets and supporting infrastructure from external and internal threats, specifically focusing on IT risk management, data protection, privacy, and compliance. Prior to her tenure at MC, Nell worked in development and marketing at the National Museum of Women in the Arts and Jewish Women International. After receiving her MBA at the University of Maryland Smith School of Business, Nell transitioned to the IT field working as a Quality Assurance Analyst and Software Engineer before focusing on database administration and IT Security. She is nationally recognized as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and was included as part of the team which created questions for the (ISC)2 CISSP exam which recognizes professional excellence and competence in cyber security.
