The ignITe Hub hosts a monthly Future of Tech Lunch & Learn Series. Each month, we will have a cutting-edge guest speaker to explore an innovative area in the world of technology. Topics will range from BioTech to Entertainment Technology and beyond. We will learn from notable industry experts about a specific type of technology, how this technology is being used to solve a community problem and what are unique career pathways related to this field.Thank you to Verizon for their generous sponsorship of this series.

Our featured guest speaker is Walter Houser, volunteer for the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Financial Crime Section.   He teaches cybersecurity, fraud prevention, personal safety, and emergency and non-emergency assistance.  He implemented web pages on the MCPD website to promote cybercrime prevention and recovery initiatives. Previously he taught cybersecurity at Thomas Edison High School in the Montgomery County Public School (MCPS) system. He mentored two CyberPatriot teams and served as a cybersecurity project manager, applications development manager, and enterprise architect to enable clients to design, develop, and deploy more resilient and assured software to rid the world of bugs and flaws.
