Description

The ignITe Hub hosts a monthly Future of Tech Lunch & Learn Series. Each month, we will have a cutting-edge guest speaker to explore an innovative area in the world of technology. Topics will range from BioTech to Entertainment Technology and beyond. We will learn from notable industry experts about a specific type of technology, how this technology is being used to solve a community problem, and what are unique career pathways related to this field. Thank you to Verizon for their generous sponsorship of this series.

Our featured guest speaker is Dr. Yisroel Brumer, Co-founder and President of Red Cell Partners, a Defense and Health Care focused investment/incubation firm, Co-Founder (with General (ret) Paul Selva) and CEO of DEFCON AI, a next-generation defense software engineering firm, and Co-founder and Founding CEO of Zephyr AI, a machine learning-driven effort to disrupt cancer drug discovery and personalized medicine. He has an extensive history of executive leadership, most notably in the Department of Defense (DoD), culminating as the Acting Director of Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE).

Dr. Brumer holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics and a Master of Science in Chemistry from Harvard University. After conducting postdoctoral research at Harvard on the physics of complex biological systems and applications to cancer, he joined the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate as a fellow with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), where he was a pioneering member of numerous key programs.

Dr. Brumer has received the highest civilian medal awarded by DoD, the Defense Distinguished Civilian Service Medal, as well as the Presidential Meritorious Executive Rank Award, the Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service (twice), the Secretary of Defense Award for Excellence, and many other awards. When not working, Dr. Brumer enjoys spending time with his fantastic wife Kim, and their two excellent children, Eliana and Netanel.
